July 24-26 Estes Park
Left Signal Butte camping for Estes Park. After about 2.5 hr drive we arrived at our condo rental on Fall River Road, just a few minutes from town and only 1 mile from the entrance to Rocky Mtn National Park. Settled in, great one bedroom with an awesome view of the Fall River right outside our door. Made dinner in condo that night, just listening to the amazing sound of the river. Next day we headed out to RMNP and did a 6 mile round trip hike up Deer Mountain-- from 8900 elevation to just about 10,000! Beautiful views of Estes Park valley and surrounding mountains. Dinner at the condo again- nice to be able to relax after a vigorous day hike with a glass of wine! Everyone tired and went to bed early. Second day we headed to southeast entrance and hiked up to Ouzel Falls, beautiful creek views and wondrous falls at the end! Tones and Nathan even hiked up enough to spot snow! Saw various wildlife, just beautiful and peaceful scenery.
